February 4th: Tuesday’s English Double – 7/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

While the EFL Cup semi-finals might steal most of the midweek headlines, we have plenty of action from across England on Tuesday night.

As Burnley look to find a route into the automatic promotion spots, we also have fixtures from the likes of League Two and the EFL Trophy.

For those of you looking to stick on a midweek flutter, we have taken a look at some of the most appealing Tuesday betting tips.

19:45 Newport County vs Morecambe

Making what was a much-welcomed return to winning ways last weekend as they snatched a 1-0 victory against Barrow, Newport will be desperate to use that gritty performance as a platform to build on. Drawing a line under their six-match winless run on Saturday afternoon, Nelson Jardim’s men are simply looking to extend their buffer over the drop zone. While the Exiles might have recorded just a pair of victories at Rodney Parade since the start of October, they will be excited by a dominant record against Tuesday’s guests. Landing a 1-0 win when they travelled to Lancashire for their reverse League Two showdown on August 31st, Newport have won each of their last three meetings against Morecambe. On a similar note, Jardim’s side have won their previous three consecutive meeting against the Shrimps at Rodney Parade by an aggregate score of 8-3.

Eventually claiming what was a thrilling 4-2 victory at home against Fleetwood last weekend, Morecambe find themselves in an almost identical position to their midweek opponents. However, still getting Tuesday’s showdown underway sat three points adrift of League Two safety, Derek Adams’ side have drastically failed to find any kind of stability. Still losing each of their other four appearances across all competitions, the Shrimps have also continued to show some real issues outside of Lancashire. Along with crashing out of the FA Cup on January 11th as they slumped to a 5-0 drumming against Premier League giants Chelsea, Morecambe have lost their last three League Two away fixtures by a 1-0 scoreline. Losing their last three trips to Rodney Parade and mustering just a single third-tier win against Newport since December 2019, we are backing a home victory on Tuesday night.

19:45 Halifax Town vs AFC Fylde

While Halifax might have suffered play-off heartbreak last season, the Shaymen haven’t shown any signs of a hangover this time around. Once again battling it out at the top of the National League table, Chris Millington’s men will simply be looking to widen their buffer in the top-seven chase here. Enjoying what has been a real purple patch since opening the New Year, Tuesday’s hosts have won each of their previous four appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 9-2. Getting 2025 underway with a stellar 3-1 romp away at Gateshead, Halifax will also be excited by their recent success on home soil. Extending on their National League Cup adventure last month as they clinched a 2-1 win against Sunderland’s U21s, the Blues have secured back-to-back victories in Yorkshire for the first time this season. Enjoying a real flurry, Millington’s side will be smelling another golden opportunity here.

Although AFC Fylde might have eventually kept hold of their National League status last season, the Coasters have a real battle on their hands in 2025. Last seen over the weekend falling to a 2-1 loss at home against Oldham, Kevin Phillips’ camp are pencilled in as a leading relegation contender. Despite landing an essential 2-0 victory against Wealdstone last month, it appears that was just a minor boost for the Lancashire-based outfit. Getting the New Year underway with a nightmare 4-1 drumming at the hands of Maidenhead, Tuesday’s guests have lost five of their previous six National League appearances. Likewise, signing off 2024 with a 3-1 defeat at home against Rochdale, AFC Fylde have continued to show some glaring defensive issues. Including another 4-1 defeat against Solihull Moors on December 21st, the Coasters have shipped at least a pair of goals in nine of their last 11 matchups across all competitions.
